Mary Catherine and Alan, Abilene, Texas
Mary Catherine and Alan’s love story began in their hometown of Abilene, Texas. With both families and extensive friends residing in the quaint city, it made sense to celebrate their wedding at their home church, The Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest, and host the reception at a downtown museum, Frontier Texas.
For the ceremony, large wreaths of white, peach and pink adorned the red doors of the church, and bouquets of red, peach and white complemented the bridesmaids’ navy blue dresses. As a special surprise, our team helped arrange for kindergarteners from the school where Mary Catherine teaches to sing during the ceremony, a truly priceless moment for our bride! The wedding party rode to and from the church in Abilene’s adorable trolley.
At the reception we erected a Sperry tent with a hardwood dance floor in the Frontier Texas courtyard, then arrayed the tent with rustic wood furniture and plaid tablecloths in ivory, blue and tan. Twinkle lights and candles added to the allure. The head table displayed a light blue runner, and lush eucalyptus leaves hung overhead from horizontal slats. Tent poles wrapped in ivy and multiple lush plants in assorted pottery placed throughout the outdoor area made for an inviting environment.
Mary Catherine and Alan desired that their guests have the time of their life celebrating with them, so we assembled a Texas-themed photo booth with outlandish props then handed out more fun hats and glasses during the dancing.
Despite a rainstorm that almost blew the tent away, the evening turned out perfect, with a lively dance party, a happy couple surrounded by loved ones, and a perfect setting for their celebration.
